||
This plan was created in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.38 Subpart E in order to provide the employees and visitors of J.V. Manufacturing, Inc. a safe means of evacuation in case of a fire or weather related emergency.

||
<center><h3>Responsibilities</h3></center>
|
||
<h4>Employer: </h4>
|
||
<ul class="list">
|
||
<li>Evaluate the number and types of hazards expected based on past experience and general knowledge to plan and develop Emergency Plan specifics. </li>
|
||
<li>Provide training to all employees for their roles in all emergency plans </li>
|
||
<li>Annually conduct necessary drills to exercise the emergency response plans </li>
|
||
<li>Conduct all other actions required in this planning guide to implement, develop and maintain an effective Emergency Plan. </li>
|
||
<li>Assist the employer in the development and execution of emergency plans.</li>
|
||
<li>Perform assigned tasks under the emergency plan. </li>
|
||
</ul>
|
||
|
||
<b style="color:red">Code Red Reporting Procedures</b>:
|
||
The method of Emergency reporting used at J.V. Manufacturing, Inc. is an intercom system. The intercom can be accessed from any phone throughout the facility. The individual who recognizes the emergency will pick up the nearest phone and report the emergency immediately.
|
||
If a fire is identified, then employee must use his/her discretion as to whether it can be extinguished. If the fire is too large, then the coding system will be used. The following are the instructions for reporting a <b>CODE RED</b>:
|
||
<p> Pick up phone, wait for dial tone. Dial extension 634. Wait for the beep, and then announce <b>CODE RED</b> and the building NUMBER/NAME. Hang up. phone. (Instructions are located by all phones throughout the shop.) Below is a list of the building #’s and names:</p>
|
||

<li>Building #1-DL line</li>
|
||
<li>Building #2- Cage/Hydraulic</li>
|
||
<li>Building #3- Compactor Line</li>
|
||
<li>Building #3a- CS-01/Container</li>
|
||
<li>Building #4- Steel/Self Contained/ Horizontal</li>
|
||
<li>Building-#5 Shipping office/VB Line/Machine Shop</li>
|
||
<li>Paint Room/Paint Storage Area</li>
|
||
</ul>
|
||
<center><h3> Receptionist will dial 911 and notify operator of the type of emergency and location. The HR department will be the backup incase receptionist is not available.</h3></center>
|
||
|
||
<h4><b style="color:red">Code Red</b> Evacuation/Employee Accountability Procedures: </h4>
|
||
<ul class="list">
|
||
<li>When a code red is announced over the loud speaker, all employees will need to evacuate their work areas immediately in a safe and calm manner. This means no running or joking.
|
||
All employees are trained on their area's evacuation exits, routes, and meeting places. Attached is the corresponding map with the evacuation routes. There are also evacuation maps throughout the facility.
|
||
All employees must meet with their supervisor and fellow employees at the designated evacuation destination.
|
||
When you reach your destination, please remain in a single file line with your department. Please DO NOT mix in with other departments.
|
||
If you are in another building when the code is sounded, it is important that you meet up with your department at the evacuation destination.
|
||
This will help with employee accountability. </li>
|
||
<li>It is the area supervisor's responsibility to make sure that everyone in his/her department is accounted for at the evacuation destination.
|
||
If the supervisor is absent, it is the responsibility of the safety committee member for that department to account for all employees.
|
||
The plant superintendents will contact each line supervisor/safety committee member to verify status of employees.
|
||
If an employee is not accounted for, the emergency officials on site will be notified immediately for a rescue attempt. </li>
|
||
<li>No one is allowed to leave the evacuation area for any reason until the emergency officials on site give the “all clear.” </li>
|
||
</ul>
|
||
|
||
<b style="color:yellow">Code Yellow Reporting Procedures:</b>
|
||
The Safety Coordinator and/or the Plant Superintendent will watch the weather service bulletins and announce a <b>CODE YELLOW</b> if there is a chance of a tornado. If there is enough notice from the National Weather Service, the facility will be placed on an alert status prior to announcing the code.
|
||
|
||
<h4><b style="color:yellow">Code Yellow</b> Evacuation/Employee Accountability Procedures:</h4>
|
||
<ul class="list">
|
||
<li>When the <b>CODE YELLOW</b> is announced over the intercom system, all employees must go to their departments assigned evacuation destinations. They are as follows: </li>
|
||
<li>Building #'s 1,2,3,3a will evacuate into the Engineering/Sales Department</li>
|
||
<li>Building #4 will evacuate into the Install Department</li>
|
||
<li>Building #5 and Paint Room will evacuate into the electric room.</li>
|
||
<li>Engineering Department and Install Depart will stay in their area.</li>
|
||
<li>Service Department, Accounting, and Executives will evacuate to the conference room and hallways bordering it.</li>
|
||
<li>It is the supervisor's responsibility to make sure that everyone in his/her department is accounted for at the evacuation destination. If the supervisor is absent, it is the responsibility of the safety committee member for that department to account for all employees. The plant superintendents will contact each line supervisor/safety committee member to verify status of employees. </li>
|
||
<li>No one is allowed to leave the evacuation area for any reason until the “all clear” signal is given by the either the Safety Coordinator or the Plant Superintendents. </li>
|
||
</ul>

||
|
||
<h4>Training:</h4>
|
||
<ul class="list">
|
||
<li>All employees of J.V. Manufacturing, Inc. will be trained on the Emergency Action Plan when: </li>
|
||
<li>Associate's responsibilities under the plan change </li>
|
||
<li>Whenever the plan is changed. </li>
|
||
<li>For all new Employees as part of the New Employee Safety Training. </li>
|
||
<li>Periodic drills will be performed to assure that all employees know what to do in case of an emergency.
|
||
Persons with specific duties require additional refresher training throughout the year.
|
||
Local Emergency Services will be contacted and invited to train in conjunction with company drills.
|
||
The written plan is maintained in the workplace and made available for employee review. </li>
|
