No homemade or modified hammers/tools that no longer meet OSHA regulations (e.g. covering holes on a 30psi air nozzle.)
No horse play. Disciplinary action will be taken.
Be aware of your surroundings. (e.g. forklift traffic, overhead crane activity, grinding, cutting, welding flashes, etc.)
Always wear safety glasses and ear plugs in all production areas
When welding, cutting, or grinding always wear safety glasses and a face shield or welding helmet
Always wear steel toe boots in production areas. See safety supervisor for toe caps if necessary.
Notify supervisor of any unsafe conditions or acts by another employee.
Always notify supervisor/safety coordinator of EVERY ACCIDENT. All accidents will be investigated.
If in doubt about the safety and health of your work area report it to your supervisor
Smoking allowed in designated areas only.
Be aware of hazards caused by inclement weather (e.g. ice on sidewalks, wet or icy steel, etc.)
Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized
If you see something on the floor pick it up even if it is not in your area
Wipe up spills and leaks when they occur
Empty trash cans when they are full
Dispose of oily and solvent rags in proper containers
Never operate any machine until you have been trained and authorized by the company
Inspect all machines and equipment for safety issues before you operate them
Never operate a machine that has a guard or any safety device removed, broken or not functioning correctly
When you see a lock and or a tag on a machine an authorized person
is working on the machine and it is not to be started again until
that authorized person removes the lock and tag.
Before starting a machine be sure no one is near the machine that could cause injury to that person
When operating moving machinery do not wear gloves. They could get caught and pull your hand into the machine
Do not wear rings or jewelry when operating machines
Do not wear loose clothing when operating a machine and if you have long hair pull it back and secure it before operating the machine
Use proper PPE when using machines (safety glasses, face shield, ear plugs, etc.)
PPE will be provided, but it is your responsibility to wear it
When handling rough, hot or sharp material wear gloves
It is your responsibility to read, understand and comply with the company safety manual
